CUSTOM BEEF

All Natural Pasture Raised Branded Beef

2010 Price Sheet

Pin Oak Farm raises and sales all natural branded pastured raised and fed beef. It is free from growth hormones, animal by-products, antibiotics, and pesticides.

Customers can purchase a whole or half. Further splitting, can be performed by the customer after processing. Many customers go in together with family or friends and purchase a whole or half beef together, and then they split the meat they receive equally. By doing this, you are saving so much money than you would pay for beef in the grocery store! Not only do you save money, but there is a definite difference in the flavor of our all natural beef, compared to that from the grocery counter!

Customers work directly with the processor for selecting choice of cuts, packaging, and paying processing costs. Our butcher is Lewis Martin at 717-355-9601. (New Holland, PA)

2010 Prices

  • $1.25 a pound live weight* by the whole or half

  • $.40 cents a pound dressed weight** to cut, vacuum wrap, and freeze

  • $20.00 disposal and dispatching fee

How to figure costs, amounts and select cuts of beef:

  • Approximately 41% of the live animal weight* (half or whole) will be what you receive for your freezer as select prime cuts and ground beef.

  • Approximately 61% of the live animal weight (half or whole) will be the dressed weight*

Sample Price Calculation based on a Whole 1000 lb. steer:

*Live Weight = 1000 lbs x $1.25 lb live wt price =Pin Oak Farm receives$1250.00
**Dressed Weight = 610 lbs x .40 cents per lb =Butcher receives$264.00
1 Whole Steer = approximately 410 lbs*** of beef for$1514.00
(1/2 Steer = approx. 205 lbs. *** of beef for$757.00)

$1514.00 divided by 410 lbs of meat equals $3.69 lb. This is your price average price for all selected cuts of meat and ground beef. All calculations are approximate, and vary depending on actual weight of the steer.

***This weight can vary depending upon the specific animal, your choice of bone-in cuts of meat such as T-bone and Porterhouse steaks, the leanness selected for ground beef, and your choice to receive variety meat, (liver, heart, soup bones, etc).
