What is a Goldendoodle?

A Labradoodle is a hybrid between a female Labrador retriever and a male poodle, either standard or miniature. A Goldendoodle is a hybrid between a female golden retriever and a poodle. The main difference between the two is coat length. Labradoodles tend to have a shorter, curlier coat; Goldendoodles have a longer, wavy coat.

Pin Oak Farm offers a variety of generations of Labradoodles and Goldendoodles for our customers to choose from. We have F1, F1B, & F2 Labradoodles, and F1 & F1B Goldendoodles. Customers who desire the most retriever in their doodle and who do not have allergy or shedding issues would be pleased to own an F1, or First generation doodle. Customers who are more concerned about allergies, shedding, etc would benefit more from an F1B (offspring of a doodle and poodle breeding) or higher generation. Doodles inherit wonderful traits from these two breeds—intelligence, trainability, loyalty—and they tend to be hypoallergenic and non-shedding. There are no guarantees, however, which a buyer must understand before purchasing a Doodle. Doodles love people and are generally friendly with everyone. They love to play, enjoy water and snow, and are very affectionate. Doodles have a friendly, loyal temperament and are great with children.

At Pin Oak Farm, our purebred breeding stock has been selected carefully, as we evaluate their health and temperament above all things. Most of our doodle parents are from our own bloodlines, while occasionally it is necessary to bring in new lines to the pedigree for optimum health and characteristics. You can see all of our breeding parents on the Our Dogs page of our website. All of our standard sized dogs are hip certified at 15-24 months of age. We are a licensed kennel in the state of Pennsylvania, which subjects us to inspection and strict guidelines for the care of our dogs. All of our puppies are hip and eye guaranteed for 2 years from the date of sale.

Our breeding dogs are part of our family—some live in our home, while others enjoy their climate controlled housing and spacious outdoor play-yard. All of them are a daily part of our lives. They receive the best care possible—constant love and affection, healthy and appropriate food, regular check-ups, all vaccinations, lots of playtime, training, etc.

When you purchase a Pin Oak Doodle, you receive a well-socialized, healthy puppy. These puppies are introduced to people and handled and loved as soon as their eyes open. We perform some degree of temperament testing, to better assist you in the selection of your puppy. While there are generally fewer shedding and allergy problems associated with Doodles, we make no guarantees. Our experience has taught us that while most F1 goldendoodles don’t shed, F1 labradoodles seem to shed to some degree.
